usiku (Swahili) - [us•i•ku] noun - night (English)
Usiku is the blend for dark roast lovers who don't compromise. Three origins, three continents, one purpose: to deliver an unapologetically bold, full-bodied cup that holds its character through milk, syrup, or whatever else you throw at it. This is the coffee you reach for when you want your espresso to taste like coffee.
We bring together heirloom varietals from the highlands of Ethiopia (the spiritual home of coffee), Catimor and Typica from the spice-trade mountains of India, and rich, earthy beans from the volcanic soils of Indonesia. Each origin contributes something distinct — Ethiopian complexity, Indian depth, Indonesian body — and our roasters develop the batch to a deep, even dark roast that pulls out smoky molasses sweetness without crossing into burnt territory.

How to brew it. Built for espresso machines and moka pots — the high temperature pulls out Usiku's chocolate-and-molasses richness perfectly. Also excellent in a French press for a thick, full-bodied morning cup. Available in whole bean and four grind sizes, in 250g, 500g, and 1kg
Why Kiboko. Every kilo of Usiku contributes £1 to communities across the African continent — coffee's birthplace and home of our heirloom Ethiopian beans. Read more on our Doing Good page. We roast in small batches in the UK to demand, rest the beans before packing, and most orders arrive next working day.
